Saturday, August 20th, 7:30-9:30 am
What is King & Queen of the Hill? It's an annual tradition where our athletes race up the big hill of the TP Reserve.
On Saturday morning, drop off athletes in the parking lot at NORTH Torrey Pines State Beach at 7:30 a.m. Athletes will receive instructions, warm up, and do drills before starting the race around 8:15 a.m. The race is approximately 1 mile. Families are encouraged to join us! Those who are staying to watch the race have a few options:
Park in the lot at NORTH Torrey Pines State Beach, the lot at SOUTH Torrey Pines State Beach, along either Coast Highway or Carmel Valley Road, or in one of the small lots at the top of the TP State Reserve near the finish line. If you park in one of the lots, there is a fee. Parking along Coast Highway and Carmel Valley Road is free, but sometimes full.
Once parked, you can either walk up the big hill of the TP State Reserve and wait at the finish line at the top to watch the athletes finish the race or you can find a spot somewhere between North and South Beach and cheer for the athletes as they race by.
Restrooms should be available at all three locations (North, South, and at the top). Gatorade and water will be provided for athletes at the top of the hill :) We hope to see everyone there!
