Julie Ott
Head Varsity Coach
"I have always had a fascination with health, sports performance and nutrition as far back as I can remember. Growing up I gravitated towards soccer and running and competed in both at very elite levels. I ran track & cross country at UCLA which was an amazing experience - competing with the best of the best. Post college, I decided to step into the coaching role, bestowing all the knowledge and experience I have with distance running to the next generation of runners. I coached cross country at Cathedral Catholic High School, as well as the track distance team at Torrey Pines High School. The experience I have had coaching kids is so rewarding and more enjoyable than I could have ever imagined. I think kids have so much to offer and learn from one another. I really enjoy fostering an environment where they feel safe, have fun and learn to dig deep within to become the best version of themselves."

Colin Cornforth
Assistant Varsity Coach
"I have played a variety of sports since I was five. In high school, I competed in basketball, golf, tennis, track and cross country. My original passion was basketball but when I started running I found real joy, and success, in it. In college I enjoyed playing ultimate frisbee and racquetball in addition to my regular basketball games. My current athletic passion, in addition to running, is hiking and backpacking.

"When I started teaching in 2010, I knew that coaching would be a great way for me to support and connect with my students in a field they were really interested in. I coached cross country and track while at John F. Kennedy High School in Anaheim and enjoyed pushing myself and my runners to be the best we could be, both on and off the course. I am lucky to have the opportunity to coach at TPHS and I am looking forward to working with the amazing student-athletes on campus."

Head JV Coach
"I used to run cross country and track at Torrey Pines and it remains one of my favorite memories. I love running, open water swimming, and barbequing on my porch. I am looking forward to working hard with the team while keeping the bigger picture in mind!“
